Supervisor Kathryn Barger
Supervisor Kathryn Barger proudly serves the residents of the 5th District — Los Angeles County’s largest — spanning over 2,785 square miles, which includes 20 cities and 83 unincorporated communities in the Antelope, San Gabriel, San Fernando, Crescenta, and Santa Clarita Valleys. Per Supervisor Barger, “Cancer has a devastating impact on our firefighters and the families who support them. While our firefighters embody bravery and courage, they are human and deserve community support in their time of need. I am proud to answer that call and do my part to help our firefighters who are battling this terrible disease.”
Supervisor Barger is committed to ensuring Los Angeles County firefighters have the tools and resources they need to perform their life-saving mission. She is also an advocate for the mental health of every person who answers the call to serve. Last year, she authored a motion to address workplace trauma within L.A. County’s Fire Department. The motion mobilized resources that provide firefighters with therapeutic services to mitigate long-lasting impacts from exposure to traumatic incidents.
