The third annual Virginia Chapter of the Firefighter Cancer Support Network Golf Tournament was held On September 18, 2023 at Lee’s Hills Golf Club in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This was our second year with a complete sellout! The event was a huge success raising over $26,000 for the FCSN.
The day began honoring six Virginia firefighters that lost their lives to occupational cancer since our last golf tournament last year and recognized those still in their battle with cancer.
The highlight of the golf tournament was the “Closest to the Pin” contest. For a ten-dollar donation, the golfer was able to launch their ball by using an AR15 rifle. The winner landed their ball 4.7 feet from the hole and received a $100 Amazon gift card from the Virginia Credit Union.

A big thank you to our golfers as well. Last but not least, thank you to our team of volunteers, who are second to none. They planned and organized the event and then tirelessly worked throughout the day. Now onto planning next year’s tournament!
