Updates from the front lines in the fight against occupational cancer in the fire service.

Newest Sustaining Partnership

Shur-Sales and Marketing Inc. Fire Division

We are proud to announce our newest sustaining partnership with Shur-Sales and Marketing, Inc., an independent manufacturers’ representative firm that has a sales force in the Fire-Fighting Equipment marketplace. Shur-Sales and Marketing, Inc. Fire Division, has a dedicated sales force, focusing on their specific market. The Fire Service Team territory includes Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, California, El Paso, Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska.

Firefighter occupational cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths in the fire service. In 2019, more than 75% of the names of fire fighters added to the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Wall of Honor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, were of firefighters who died from occupational cancer. Cancer is a looming personal catastrophe for every firefighter. Since 2005, FCSN has provided assistance and one-on-one mentoring to thousands of cancer-stricken firefighters and their families. FCSN also delivers extensive firefighter cancer awareness and prevention training nationwide.

“FCSN is proud and grateful to have Shur-Sales and Marketing Inc. Fire Division, join our Sustaining Partnership family. They join a dozen other companies that provide the financial support and assurance that our mission will sustain and support our vision- to be the global leader in firefighter cancer support, awareness and education,” said CEO and President, Bryan Frieders.

“We are proud to be affiliated with The Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN). Organizations like FCSN are a tremendous resource to the firefighter community,” said Ken Bush President of Shur-Sales & Marketing, Inc. Fire Division.
